Experienced an electrical system failure in flight and landed at Siskiyou County airport. John Cowling was my savior! He troubleshot the system and determined that the alternator was dead, and recharged my battery. This enabled me to fly VFR to Redding, where a new alternator was available and could be installed. John was super - he found out exactly what I needed, called Redding and got the alternator on it's way across town to their FBO, and made sure the FBO had the time to install it. All this enabled me to get home that same day. He even called me at home the next day to make sure I made it OK. Kudos to John Cowling!
