I flew into SMO for a one hour meeting with a business associate. I have a Beechcraft Sierra IE, the type of plane Atlantic Aviation would like very much to keep off their ramp. The line attendant when he did wander by my plane was just rude. Worse still the counter staff was totally into ignoring me and wanted to charge $7.69 per gallon of 100LL. I paid the $40 landing fee had my meeting and could not get out of the place fast enough. I had been to Supermarine many times and never had any problems. Next time American Flyers.

We dropped in for a few hours, provided a courtesy car. TBM 700. Lots of staff and services and fuel price is right up there too. We will likely return here because of location and service but not as a fuel stop which is about as high as we've seen in our travels. Our minimum fuel was 65g for the TBM or more than $100 in landing fees.

Came in to Atlantic at SMO in a DA40 and was treated as good as every one else. They gave us a ride to the Spitfire Grill and picked us up after lunch. Very friendly and professional staff.

Just tried to get a jump-start for a friend's helicopter that is stuck at the airport. Atlantic will not provide this service out of principle for liability reasons and leaves him stranded. What is the purpose of an FBO, then, I wonder, and how shabby is that altogether?

Into Atlantic on Sunday afternoon in our companies King Air 200. Get my passenger on his way. My rental car waiting planeside. Back on Monday a.M. to get a $308 parking/overnight bill with no fuel purchased. My mid sized GO rental car ended up just over $110. Service...Average at best. Fees...Horrible, legalized theft!!!!

This is NOT the only FBO at SMO, as some seem to think. American Flyers, right across the runway.

We had a quick turn at Atlantic on 18 April 2010 (Atlantic had been advised of the flight a few days earlier so it was not a surprise). We dropped off 2 Pax with a rental car pick up at around 10:00pm PDT. Unfortunately we had to depart ASAP. The pax reported no one helped them with their luggage and after being misdirected about where to find the car and stumbling around in the dark for sometime, an airport security policeman, who happened to be patrolling the area, assisted them in locating it. These among other events at Atlantic made for a disappointing experience and did not meet the standard we normally expect from an FBO. There are really no other FBO options at SMO, but perhaps this comment will cause Atlantic to look into their level of service.

I land at SMO in a lowly 206 about once a month or so. Maybe its just because they know me, but by the time I've shut down the engine the little Toyota Corolla is always parked right next to my plane and the guy is holding the door open for me. Typically around $45 or so. Yes -- there are tons of jets around but they always find a way to take care of me and drive me out to my plane if they've had to reposition it. American Flyers is nice, but they don't carry the same hours and getting a rental car over there is hit and miss.

Landed yesterday for half day of cool air. Controllers and Atlantic staff were great. Ramp fee $40 for 5 hours parking a Beech Debonair. High compared to KSAN or KLAS even. Transient next time.

Flew to SMO on my first coast-to-coast trip. Staff was friendly and efficient. They arranged rental car and were waiting for me. Constructive criticism: they are much more concerned about jet traffic, and it's the only game in town. FBO needs refurbishment and upgrades.

Land here recently on an air-ambulance trip in our Cheyenne III and the people couldn't have been nicer. They have a pricey ramp fee but that was waived since we topped her off. Nice experience at this FBO.

I made a reservation with Midway Car rental (which until very recently, had been the FBO car rental company). The rate was great ($45/day for a full size). The FBO front desk transferred me to the car rental counter so I could arrange for after hours pickup. The new rental agency, GO Rentals, led me to believe that they were midway under a new name. He even asked me for my midway confirmation number as he was reentering all my info. Looking back, the deception was clearly intended. So, I show up after hours with no other options to find a full size car waiting for me at $90/day. Atlantic was very helpful in trying to get Go to match the Midway rate, but when they wouldn't, I promptly asked for a cab. Atlantic should kick Go to the curb and bring back the friendly folks at Midway.

Great Facility but watch out for the ramp fees, they are ridiculous. We pay more for our King Air to land at this facility than we pay anywhere else for our GIV
