Salinas is one of my favorite airports due in part to helpful ATC, excellent facilities, and the The Landing Zone restaurant. I have stopped by for breakfast and lunch many times and always find the service to friendly and efficient. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. The prices are quite reasonable. The owner, Helen, is very accommodating to groups. Many of my flying friends like to meet at the restaurant to do pre and post flight briefing for formation flying practice. Helen makes available a separate dining room that can handle about 20.
