I am very lucky because I fly to SOP a few times a year as I have a second home in Pinehurst. I'm lucky because it is truly a great FBO and I have no worries leaving my plane there. When you call in 5 miles out, they call you back and ask what needs you will have upon landing. Vicki at the front desk and on Unicom is the best and goes out of her way to be helpful. The line crew, after leading you to parking, will help you with luggage and tiedown your plane. On a couple occasions, I arrived needing emergency maintenance (vacuum pump, DG replacement) and they have accommodated me and had me on my way on schedule. Fuel prices are competitive which is good since I usually arrive with about 1/4 tanks. Make sure you bring your golf clubs and play some of the area's fantastic courses.

FBO is very nice but they close at 8 and want you to pay $75/hour to access your plane. Seems a bit steep to me. If you intend to leave at night get there before 8 or get ready to jump a fence.

Absolutely excellent fuel stop. Fuel attendant very nice and responsive to needs. Lady at front desk a sweet heart. Very nice and customer friendly. Facilities are excellent. I stopped by in my Cessna 182 on my way to DC. Excellent pit stop! And reasonable fuel prices. I'll be back!

Was planning on landing at 5NC3, a few miles away, for the on-field BBQ, but they were closed! So went back up and ended up at SOP. It’s a great airport with nice big runway and a swanky FBO like you would see at a major airport. They lent us a crew car (actually from the on-site Hertz fleet) and while the restaurant they recommended, 196, was also closed for vacation, we had some of the best burgers and bread pudding I've ever had at a British pub called "The Sly Fox" about 10 minutes drive away. If you find yourself stopping at SOP, this is a great place to eat!

Desk lady is a little overwhelmed and made 2 separate mistakes on our bill. She did correct it but not after a lengthy wait. Plus the PINEHURST hotel is a little pricey and charges 10 bucks per person to take you to or from the airport.

Made a "nature break" there yesterday on our way to HNZ. Lineman was friendly and quick. The lady (can’t remember her name) was very nice and sweet. Nice "facilities" . If you know what I mean.

Dropped in 8/31/2010 for a short stay to pick up my son from a traveling high school soccer game. Was greeted on radio from FBO while in the pattern. Met at the taxiway/ramp with line crew in golf cart. Clean courtesy car was available. Pleasant focused staff. Great fuel prices. Couldn't ask for more...There are a bunch of FBO's that need to take notes from here. Can't wait to need to be in Pinehurst again!

Four of us in a Baron for a week end golf trip. The line guys were very friendly and helpful. Brought me my rental car and helped unload the bags. It is nice to have this service when you have a group that is anxiuos to start the golf experience.
