One of our absolute favorite spots! Always welcomed as friends and treated like family, Golden Isles Aviation has hospitality figured out. Highly recommend!

To say I was treated well at Golden Isles is understatement. Probably the most hospitable experience in 35 years of flying. We arrived on a crazy busy event weekend, all shuttles, rental cars and/or crew cars taken. The owner, Larry, made sure I was taken care of, from restaurant recommendations to use of his family car. Extraordinary. The line and reception was top notch too.

Stopped in today in a Piper Dakota for a lunch and go. Nice airport with outstanding service from Golden Isles Aviation. Met by lineman in golf cart follow-me as soon as we entered the ramp. Following shutdown, he was kind enough to whisk us to the FBO in the golf cart saving us a walk. Ladies at the desk were outstanding as well, allowing me to charge an ipad and gave us directions to Southern Soul BBQ. Everyone was prompt and courteous and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend stopping by SSI and Golden Isles if you find yourself aviating in the SE US.

This is a surprisingly busy airport and the FBO has their hands full but does a good job. A tip for IFR departures: Yes, you can raise Jax Center on 126.75 on the ground for your clearance but I found that while I could talk to them on the main ramp they were barely readable at the RWY 22 hold short line, so don't count on pulling up to the hold short line and getting your clearance or release! Do it on the ramp, then taxi and take off.

Flew into SSI about a week ago. They marshaled us to a spot less than 100 yards from the front door. When met at the plane we let them know fuel and about 3 hours until departure. Truck was there right away and the bill was ready as soon as we walked in the lobby. We asked for a cab to the pier and were told, "No cabs at Saint Simmons Island, but here's the key to the courtesy car". Couldn't have been more painless. Great lunch, great service and friendly, professional staff. Beautiful facility. Prices were very reasonable considering the level of service. Great view of the wrecked cargo ship on departure from Rwy 22. It made national news about a year ago when it overturned and dumped an entire load of brand new cars into the water. Look forward to being a repeat customer.
