Very helpful people. Flew in on a 172 going from NY to Fl. Was refueled and out the door within 20 minutes. Surroundings of airport are quite beautiful.

Fantastic folks and first class operation. We had to divert due to line of storms and ended up stranded on St Simons. The folks at Golden Isles got us a fantastic rate at the Sea Palms, a wonderfully remodeled hotel and lent us the crew car for the night. The kids enjoyed a walk on the beach and we enjoyed the comfortable room. Thanks Golden Isles.

Really nice FBO. Super helpful & friendly STAFF. Reasonable fuel prices. Wanted to highlight the Southern Soul BBQ Restaurant. 4 minute walk from FBO. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but food is terrific!! I'm from Lexington, NC, (home of World Famous LEXINGTON STYLE BBQ), but the pulled pork bbq & the brisket were outstanding. Also, the homemade baked beans & cornbread were terrific! You've got to give it a try.

As usual, a pleasant stop. Courtesy vans available for lunch runs. Not the least expensive gas on the north-south route, but helpful staff, good FBO services, nice surrounding area. Five minutes to the center of town with multiple lodging and dining options.

Golden Isles Aviation is a first rate operation with reasonable fuel prices. While I was there I had a charging issue that turned out to be an easy fix. Hats off to PALMETTO AVIATION REPAIR at SSI. They jumped on the problem and charged a reasonable rate to allow me to get back home on schedule. THANKS KIRK!

Very nice FBO. The staff was extremely friendly and provided a crew car for a trip into town to get food. There are many convenient restaurants, but Barbara Jeans was recommended by the FBO for good seafood. Best crab cakes that I've had in years! Great Experience, I'll be back!

I was flying with my wife on Memorial Day Weekend into SSI and lost my alternator flying IFR in the soup. By the time I got to the ground I had 8 volts charge left on a 28-volt system. PALMETTO AVIATION took the plane diagnosed the issue, uninstalled, charged the battery overnight and reinstalled the battery for me. They offered to get an alternator, but it would take a few days so I elected to return home VFR on just the battery power. Kirk the manager would not take a dime for any of the work he or Chuck, his mechanic did. They even advised me that taking the plane home to get it fixed was a viable option. These guys were great to work with, they were more interested in getting me home than picking up a few extra bucks over the long weekend. I appreciate their efforts and to both I owe a big thank you. I will not hesitate to bring my plant to Palmetto should the need ever arise.

St Simons as everyone on traffic advisory was calling it was windy and fairly busy that day. Significant construction projects going on when we were there on 4/23/09 but no problem getting around to/from the self serve pumps. Lots of dirt & dust blowing around in places but otherwise a nice stop in.

Golden Isles Aviation has one of the finest pilot's lounges I have seen. The biz jets dwarfed our little C182, however, this did not deter the line staff from giving us first-rate service. I wanted to mention how 'great' the women, at the service desk, are. But, my wife won't let me.

OK, so this is a bit long, but worth the read: first of all, first class service, very comfortable, helpful and very nice and friendly staff, definitely worth a visit. Now, to my personal story: Me and a friend landed on Feb. 18th for a top off and a quick coffee, Suzie (hope I got her name spelled right) was very friendly and helped me scan my driver's license and credit card to send a copy of them to a car rental company at our final destination for the day. Three flight hours later, 300 miles south, I realized I left my credit card AND driver's license in their scanner, now, we were on a tight travel schedule, and flying back was not an option. I called Suzie, and the morning later they were sent express to the airport we stopped in afterwards. I want to express my appreciation and thanks to the lovely staff and recommend GOLDEN ISLES AVIATION. Thanks again! Will definitely be back!

We used Golden Isles as a fuel stop on our trip to Key West. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Good price on fuel and also provided a crew car for us to take to dinner. Would recommend them and plan on using them again in the future.

We stayed in at Golden Isles for a few hours. The FBO is rather hard to locate since there are no large signs anywhere, and the one on the building reads a different name if I recall. Very nice facility though, with friendly service. Walking in the door makes you feel very comfortable there. N17386.

Arrived 7/19/08 in a Mooney for a 2-night stay. Found friendly people, a nice facility and a reasonable fuel price considering the location. Was met and marshalled efficiently in front of the facility; the airplane was towed to tiedown with care. The first night's tiedown was waived with fuel purchase. Will come again.

Stopped in Golden Isles Aviation on my way to Lakeland on December 2007. Very attentive staff that made sure everything was right. On departure I had an emergency, wound up landing hard on the nose wheel hitting the propeller. The line persons from GIA and Kirk from Palmetto Aviation Repair immediately assisted me and made sure everything was OK. GIS kept an eye on my airplane until the FAA & my insurance was finished with it. When my mechanic picked it up, they assisted him. I highly recommend them and will be back!

Golden Isles Aviation has the most hospitable staff I've met yet.

After diverting around some weather, this place became an unscheduled fuel stop on the way from PA to FL. After getting there 45 minutes after close and finding the self-serve pumps INOP, we called up the number on the FBO building for after-hours service. The woman on the phone couldn't provide an estimate to when help would arrive, and seemed irritated that we kept calling every half hour for an update. When one did finally show up, he was extremely apologetic - apparently the person on call that night wasn't picking up, so they ended up calling this man instead. It was obvious that he cared and was sorry for the long wait. He truly made up for the rest of the experience. He got us fueled quickly. When he couldn't make change for a $5 bill for the soda machines, he found some cokes in the back room fridge and gave them to us. In closing, there are definitely some people at this FBO who care about their customers; it's just more difficult to find them after hours.

I stopped there on my way to SnF 07 I'd been flying for 8 hours that day the sun was about to set and a squall line was building between me and LAL. I asked if they could help find me a place to stay. Even though they were busy with end of day stuff, they were closing in 15 min.; the counter person took the time to call 8 - 9 motels until she found one with a room. I must have got the last room on the island that night. It was a resort I woke up to. There was a slider to a screen in porch and a view of a fairway and lake. It was magnificent only $119.00 per night. The wife wanted to stay and skip SnF. The next day they got me the last rental car because they knew of a cancellation that Avis didn't know about yet. My hats off to Golden Isles Aviation. It's 5 Star, nice lounge, planning area. They also help with the luggage to and from my AA5. A must stop from now on. Bill & Linda

I stopped in for fuel on my way home from Sun-n-Fun last week. What a pleasant experience after making a mistake on the way down 4 days earlier. Great service from all there. Fuel prices are fair considering they have a great and fast full service crew. Even the local EAA chapter was there in the middle of the week offering food and drink for weary pilots making there way up and down the coast. Great job guys, hope to see ya again soon.

Golden Isles is first class--consistently. Compared to other operations in the area, fuel is not outrageously high.

Stopped at SSI on the way to Fort Myers in an American Champion Scout I was taking to Fort Myers for a friend. When we landed the ramp was FULL of GIV's, GV's and a bunch of other corporate jets there for a conference. That didn't keep the folks at Golden Isles from taking good care of my buddy and I!! Courtesy van, great rate at the King and Prince Resort for the overnight, etc. My wife and I vacation at St. Simons/Jekyll Island whenever possible and they always make us feel welcome in our Comanche too!
