Flew in Piper Archer today for overnight. Treated like royalty. Self-serve fuel $4.00 - yes four dollars - per gallon. Had Hertz car pulled planeside before I returned from the yellow ramp fuel pump (directly beneath tower). No ramp fee. This place and its people are a class act. No ramp, tie-down, or security fee with the fuel purchase.

Called ahead to the various FBO's to find the best value. Their service was quite acceptable, but not exceptional. We told them when we would be back to do some formation flying and the plane was still tied down out by the fence. Again told them when we would return for departure and again the plane was out by the fence when we returned. If they had brought (or left) the plane up close to the FBO, I would have no choice but to give them 5 stars.

From Don Cope on 24-Jan-2018

I am an Angel Flight pilot and I delivered a passenger to KSUS on Jan 23, 2018 in a C-210. I parked at TAC Air and was planning a quick turn around, but needed some fuel. I made my fuel request right away and was told there was a problem with the 100LL fuel truck, but it should be available within 10 to 15 minutes. I was also told it was a brand new (to them) fuel truck. To make a long story short, after a 20-minute wait, I was told there were two other FBO's and also self-service fuel, but I would have to fire up and taxi to those locations. I elected to taxi to Million Air, where I received immediate service, but had to pay an extra $ 15 service fee. I also learned that TAC Air has had "fuel truck problems" for quite some time. I don't know why there have been no comments to that effect on AirNav.

Response from Phil Bissonnette, General Manager, TAC Air
Mr. Cope, we are sorry your visit here did not meet expectations. Our Avgas truck experienced a terminal failure a few weeks ago. We arranged for a replacement truck as quickly as possible. During this time, we continued to offer self-serve Avgas without interruption. This was offered to Mr. Cope and it was declined. The replacement Avgas truck was within moments of being placed into service at the time of Mr. Cope's arrival. Although we rushed to complete the task, it wasn't accomplished until approximately 5 minutes after Mr. Cope's departure from the TAC Air ramp. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

I have flown several Pilots n Paws dog rescue flights into SUS and always use TAC Air. They always treat me great and the other Pilots n Paws pilot who meet me. Since we are a non-profit, they also wave any fees. Many times, the employees have come out and help hold puppies for pictures!!

I had a great experience at TAC-Air last week. They accommodated me with no drama. They organized my rental car which was waiting for me when I arrived. It took literally less than one minute from the time I walked in from the ramp before I was in the car and on to my meeting. The self-serve 100LL pump was not located at the TAC-Air ramp, but the great price mitigated the slight inconvenience of taxiing over there.

From Mike McKibben on 23-Jun-2016

I echo the earlier praises for TAC Air -- landed on a HOT day with wife and daughter in our Piper Dakota, and appreciated the stellar hospitality and great facilities. Every single person we dealt with made our travel easier. And it is quite reasonable for fuel. Easy to get to the yellow ramp for 100LL. We will be back.
