Nice stop. Courtesy car keys are left out for you to use (don't lock the green van). Facilities were nice, fuel was cheap, and restaurants are close by. This is one of those airports to keep in your back pocket in case you need to make a stop somewhere for weather etc.

Have used TKX for years with excellent even service and lowest fuel prices. Airport cars have always been available. Motels and restaurants are close by. Nice FBO with all amenities needed by a pilot(s) and passengers.

Arrived at 11pm parked and walked 6 minutes to food and our hotel. The terminal building was open with weather services and bathrooms. The runway lighting is outstanding. This is some of the cheapest 100LL around. Why can't more stops be this good?

We have been to Kennett now for over 6 years for fuel stops whenever heading South from Wisconsin (which happens 3 or 4 times a year). As other reviewers point out the fuel is very competitively priced (I don't like to say "cheap"), the facilities are very, very nice, the courtesy cars are a great plus and the GPS approaches certainly help in the winter months and during summer storms. Not really a secret amongst cross country fliers. More often than not we had to stand in line with our Aztec or Chieftain to get to the pump. Gives you time to chat with the friendly people who run the place.

I stop here many times during the year. I wish they would put a rubber cover on the 100LL nozzle. I realize the nozzle sits in a pipe stand but it's open to collect dirt from the elements.

Great stop. Cheap 100 LL self serve. Runway in great shape. Building looks to be nearly brand new. Made this my midway stop on an XC both going and returning. Thanks AirNav reviewers for the tip!!

It has been a few years and this stop is still one of my favourite cross country stops. The building is clean, air conditioned with all the amenities, the runways are in excellent shape and the fuel is cheap. One of the best in my book.

What a find! Cheap fuel and a new, large facility that is open 24-7. They even had crew cars you could sign out yourself and oil in the cabinet, if needed. The Days Inn is an easy walk, as are several restaurants. Las Margaritas was good.

Cheap fuel. (Bonding cable is short so pull up close). Nice self-serve FBO when nobody's home. Big ol' long runway on delta flat land. No AWOS/ASOS. Fast food within sight if you can get to it. I didn't try. Good stop!

This airport is within walking distance of Walmart, several motels and pizza hut, taco bell and others. 18/36 was being resurfaced when we landed, so be sure to check NOTAMs. Fuel was priced as listed here: 3.59 for 100LL. Although no FBO personnel were in site, this is an excellent place to stop because of the proximity of all you might need.

Stopped in for an RON after hours. Called ahead and spoke with Sam who gave me the code for the courtesy van (TWO of them!). Terminal facility is exceptional and unlocked at 2200 on our arrival. Tremendous benefit for the wife and kids to hang out in while I buttoned up the airplane. As previously said by other reviewers, restaurants and lodging are right there within easy walking distance as well as a Walmart with groceries. Lodging would be the only distractor; yes, within walking distance (if needed) but dated and expensive ($120 night at Days Inn). I second the comment that the City of Kennett should be commended for their efforts on making a first class, small town airport. GREAT airport, GREAT fuel price as advertised on AirNav...Well Done!

My wife and I stopped here for the night (6/29/10) on our way from Baltimore to Austin. We knew we would not land until after business hours and talked to David from Jewell Aviation who let us know how to access the keys for the courtesy van. He gave us a name of a hotel close by that was clean. Best fuel prices in the area. A must fuel stop and a well equipped pilot's briefing room.

This airport has been a re-fueling stop for many years. It’s also a great place to divert, hotels within walking distance, self serve fuel, and an open FBO building. This town has worked hard to promote its airport. Stop in, you will be glad you did

Great stop. Hard time securing a rental car for our passenger, FBO manager offered his personal car even though he had to stay a little past closing. Had the single point nozzle changed and ready to go despite our change of schedule and inability to take on additional fuel. Nice facility and friendly people.

Everything so easy. No problems whatsoever using this facility. The FBO is in such great shape; there is virtually nothing to want. Computer is ready to go, bathrooms are super clean. Hope to stop a little longer to enjoy a restaurant or two in Kennett one day, which are a stone's throw from the field.

Great fuel prices made me stop, but the people will bring me back. I had a mechanical problem on a Sunday and my plane would not start. A local pilot and A&P diagnosed and fixed the problem, then called me at my next stop to ensure all was well. This gentleman turned a big problem for me into a positive experience. Kudos to Kennett and the pilots based there!

Based on APM's comments below, I landed TKX around 0400 on Aug 2 as indicated, the runway lights were indeed on. Landing was uneventful, and fuel pump worked great. FBO access is as promised, and a fine operation. All in all, a terrific GA airport. CC's are avail, but I didn’t use them. I wanted to get back to CA before dark.

During an XC, from VNY (SoCal) to RYY (Ga.) tried to land TKX, around 0400 on Sat, 07/25/09. Got lower than 900 agl, right over the field. Saw the beacon, but couldn’t get the lights to come on. Tried 22.8 first, 3 clicks, then 5 then 7. Several times. Nothing, so I tried the other usual suspects while circling, like 22.9; 23.0;, 23.05, even 22.7. Nothing worked no how! I had to climb back up and traveled east to Benton Co Tenn. 0M4 their lights and SS pump worked, but no access to the FBO. Response from Larry V. Jones, TKX Board member, City of Kennett (FBO) Runway lights are now set to burn continuous from dust to dawn until the runway radio light controller is repaired. Sorry that you had to divert to another airport. We work hard to have all services available 24 hours everyday.

My plane is based near Kennett so TKX is the "practical" place for me to re-fuel. I know the people here very well and attest to what a great group they are. Jewell Aviation (next to the fuel pumps) has the ability to handle virtually every maintenance related issue. The selection of eating places, lodging, extremely low fuel prices, etc are just icing on the cake.

I have been refueling at TKX for the past five years and consider it my own fuel stop. Selfish, am I not? Always the lowest longtime stop I know of that exists in the Midwest. Great courteous people who also volunteer to help with the fill up tasks. I use TKX always on the trips to the east and southeast from FYV. This fuel stop is the primo example that you can sell fuel and not gouge pilots. Hooray for the City of Kennett, MO!!! Miss Pearl, N3383A

Nice and clean facility. Easy access to self-service pump and great price for fuel. No attendant available at FBO, but a very friendly gentleman next door at the maintenance shop allowed my family and I to use his golf cart to drive over and get a bite to eat. Many restaurants within walking distance (McD's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell).
