Flying from LHX to SNA, weather changes precipitated my decision to land. TNP was in route; consistent with comments of others, I am glad I chose this location. After hours landing, but access was intuitive and honor system refreshments were available.

Great little place to visit for a fuel stop other than PSP. Low fuel cost fuel; self serve snacks, and clean restrooms. DO NOT USE TOPS TAXI to go to town. We spent the night and were charged $50 each way!!!! Yes $100 total for a 3-mile (each way) cab ride. Never ever again.

Well-maintained facilities. Enjoyed food in the freezer bought by the honor system. Microwave and instant coffee were yet another pleasing surprise. Door combination to pilot lounge is the airport designator. Good airport to land at because of crosswind runways.

Flew in a couple of weeks ago. What a change since the county has taken over… Very nice! Both runways in good condition. When you call in on the CTAF, a UNICOM like computerized voice responds with all pertinent info. Easy in and out. Pilot lounge is stocked with frozen dinners for cheap price. Great place to stop and take a break.
