I flew into Truckee from Bishop last January, with morning temperatures very low. I had planned a flight out to Chico, but could not get the plane started, so scrapped it. I was worried that I would not be able to start the plane to get back to Bishop because the temps were low all day. Phred (head of maintenance) took care of me. We parked my plane near a power outlet so I could plug in the Tannis heater, and he added an electric blanket and another blanket over the top. The engine was toasty the next morning and started right up. I should have written this a long time ago... Phred, you are the greatest!!!

Spent three nights for a meeting this week. Note runway numbering has been updated (Rwy 10/28 is now 11/29, 1/19 is now 2/20). Friendly service and great fuel pricing. Used Enterprise for car rental. They are offsite but delivered to FBO-a little late. We left before the FBO opened so had to hide the keys for Enterprise to pick up later. It turned out to be no problem. Very GA friendly airport. Would certainly use again the airport again. Hertz might be a better choice for a car rental here.

Great airport, nice, new facility, nice, professional staff. However, a big minus for charging big-league ramp fees, and having NO crew cars. Slightly amateurish in that regard. $150.00 to park a B350 for a couple of hours. Take $7500.00 out of the $2MM noise-monitoring fund, and buy 3 used Civics.

Flew in on September 30 for the week. Very nice airport, runways in very good conditions. Fuel very reasonable. FBO staff very helpful, nice food court. Rental car right next door. A+

We flew in on 7-29-12 for lunch at the Red Truck Cafe, which is now open 9 am -- 3 pm, 7 days a week, in the terminal building. Delicious, inventive, gourmet-food-truck type food. Self-serve 100LL was $5.13 (quite cheap for this day and age.) The pilot's lounge is luxurious, there's a nice large lawn and deck for watching all the airport activity, and rental cars are available. Watch the density altitude, though...It was 8, 500' when we arrived.

Nice to see an airport with cross wind runways!! Very nice airport; new terminal is under construction, but the current one works fine. No FBO, but none needed. Hertz will leave keys at the airport office upstairs for pick up and drop off. You can drive onto the ramp during daytime hours. Very convenient. Overnight fees reasonable, too.

Flew in over July 4th weekend. Plenty of parking. Ramp fees $7/night for single. Cafe is open and sandwiches are good too. Would make a great stop for those traveling between SoCal and the Pac NW.

Can't beat the location if you're going to North Star. Won't take a fuel order over the phone!?

Self-serve fuel is being relocated. As of August 2010 the only fuel is from the truck. However while self-serve is out of order the price from the truck is the same as the price at self serve with no rollout fee.
