I got caught by the remnants of tropical storm Lee and landed by chance at New Castle. They have a top notch pilot training center and a well equipped, very nice facility. The people there could not have been nicer or more accommodating and I really appreciate their hospitality.
Landed and they closed up shop and went home, it was 5pm but they could have waited long enough for us to get a drink of water and use the restroom. The runways are in poor shape.
Haski is fine - nice pilot shop and nice people. Airport runways below average for a high performance airplane. Piston powered planes will have no problem but the runway has oscillation which causes turboprops to skip down the runway on takeoff and landing. Also, there is no Jet A. If you need Jet A call in advance to make sure they have it.
