Winder used to have competitive fuel prices. Not so anymore. Looking at fuel prices along my route today from KPGD to KWDR, Winder is over one dollar more than most out of AirNav.

Stopped for lunch at the Spitfire Deli yesterday, and my nose wheel went flat due to a hole in the tube. Romanair replaced the tube, and we were on our way in about 1.5 hours. Friendly folks and quick service!

Stopped in my third time on my way from Ft. Lauderdale and this is a very fine airport for a stop. The people that frequent this airport are quite nice and helpful, the military personnel training in the helicopters are very accomodating, and Spitfire Pete's is a very nice small restaurant. There are Flight planning facilities in abundance, but clearance is through a GCO that is unreliable, but VFR and clearance in the air works - if conditions permits. Fuel prices are very reasonable and an excellent stopover point coming North from Florida.

I would like to thank "Eddie" at Romanair at Winder (KWDR) for giving me a "battery boost" from the tug to solve a "hot start" problem on the ramp on Saturday, November 18, 2006. Despite my attempt to pay, Eddie wouldn't accept any payment for the help, so I will definitely be stopping at WDR to buy avgas from Romanair in the future. Thanks again!

On the way back from Florida on 9/2/06, stopped in for fuel at Romanair and would recommend the place for fuel stop. Very clean, no frills fuel stop with reasonable price for Avgas. It is next to Spitfire so the combination makes this a winning stop.

Flew in for a quick lunch at the Spitfire. Glenn the line tech was very helpful at giving me a tow to the fuel pump. Very quick and professional service.

Great place to stop. Fuel price is a little high, but the people are great and the food in the dinner is even better. Will stop in again!

Stopped for lunch and fuel on 04/09/06. Avgas truck was out of service, and self-serve pump was stacked 5 deep (Sun 'N' Fun flock). Although they didn't answer the unicom radio, the line tech did save the day untangling the clustered flock with a tug. Spitfire Deli was great!
