Waterville is a good place to stop. My son and I visited Waterville while visiting Maine Colleges. The runway was being repaired, and the airport was NOTAMed as closed, I called ahead and talked with the airport manager, he said just call with an ETA and he will get the repair crew out of the way. I did, and they did, it worked like clockwork! Our rental car was waiting for us, he fueled the plane as instructed, gave us a key to get through the gate if our return was after hours, and even gave directions to a deli that we never would have found otherwise. I will go back!

The runway is in only fair shape. Fuel was reasonably priced though it is not self serve so make sure you arrive during business hours.

Excellent service from the line personnel and reasonable fuel prices. Easy airport to fly into and out of. Lots of ramp space for tie down.
