Great little airport. The diner is small but charming, with good down-home cooking. The NAS museum is fairly big with many interactive exhibits (some obtained from the Franklin Institute) and several climb-aboard aircraft. You can even stand inside the former Bader Field control tower! $10 admission is worth it. Big gift shop. Bring any veterans you know. Self-serve fueling is easy and fast. Current lack of FBO not a big deal.

Purpose of this comment: flying to WWD 12-09-11 and learned of the following from the Airport Manager: The FBO is no longer there and any new FBO will not be available till 4-12; My understanding is that during this interim period: No parking fee at FBO ramp or general ramp (no tie downs) by restaurant; museum charges a nominal tie down fee; self service 100LL is available ($5.89 +/-) with credit card. Make sure you have sufficient fuel to go elsewhere if 100LL becomes unavailable. "Person gate access" is similar to other airports, but no one is there to open the vehicle gate to the previous FBO ramp. They do have a "person gate" there also with same access; so plan to carry your baggage to your rental car area.   Stopped in to refuel on an x-country. The self serve pump is one of the fastest ever. I had the mains filled with 60 gals about in 3 mins flat. That was nice! The lineman also came out to see if everything was O.K.
