Very unprofessional staff at the airport! I tried contacting them repeatedly before landing and while pulling onto the ramp. We were staying over night and wanted to know where to park. Upon shutting down I walked into the office to find two guys sitting within an arms distance from a Unicom. After our passengers were on their way, a worker told us we needed to move our plane. We weren't thrilled and asked if they had a hand tug. The worker asked us to call the owner of the tug and then asked us to operate it, which we refused. The following day we were verbally harassed by the charter company on the field and also by the worker that assisted us previously. While sitting in the office, that worker stormed in and started using profanity and complaining to me about the other pilot. I eventually opted to sit in the plane while waiting for our customers. All this could have been prevented if they answered the Unicom the day before. His excuse? "I was off the clock."

Response from Robert Buerkle, Airport Manager, Cortland County Airport-Chase Field
Response to Greg Evans comment: 1) If nobody answers a Unicom call, it's likely after hours. 2) When one parks his aircraft directly in front of an obvious large hangar door, one should expect he would be asked to move the aircraft. 3) Our hours of attendance are clearly listed in the A/FD, and you clearly arrived after hours. 4) Even though the airport worker was off-duty, he returned and offered you a solution, only to have you refuse it. You sir, have tried to paint a very polite and dedicated employee (as well as being a pilot) as some sort of crackpot. I have known and worked with this person for several years, I spoke to him about your comments and I do not believe he ever harassed you or used profanity in his dealings with you. We wish to invite you back to our airport, but next time please use some common sense in selecting a parking location (there is plenty of room for everyone on the ramp) and a lot more class in dealing with our top-notch airport personnel.

Nice County Airport. Has some of the lowest 100LL prices in the area. No longer has Mo-Gas. Managers office not open late hours, but the FBO "Dave" is very helpful.

Visited on a long cross-country from PYM en route to IAG. 300 miles from home and these people welcomed my friend and I as close friends. We stopped back again on the way home and had a great conversation with a gentleman and his wife about "his and her airplanes." I'd love to come again.
