Called ahead for overnight parking instructions and fueling. Mgr Jeff Smith was polite and professional in tending to my needs, which made my stay more pleasant. Stayed at the Comfort Suites very nice and close to everything. The airport is easy to navigate, fuel prices were very competitive. Will use again.

Carlisle is a real nice spot and the staff there is great. I don't understand why their runway is list as in poor condition when it was resurfaced and widened last year. Would love to see a GPS approach with lower minimums that current outdated VOR-A approach.

Tammy & I flew in to drop off two dogs, as part of the Pilots-N-Paws program. The runway is very easy to locate, running adjacent to the interstate highway and next to a rock quarry. I had called the airport, a day prior to arrival, and learned the airport was not normally staffed on Sunday, during the winter, but parking and self-serve fuel would not be an issue. Much to my surprise and pleasure, Russell Carey, had come out on his own time to monitor the CTAF and help us with the dog transfer. He and the airport are supporters of the dog rescue programs and make a special effort to support these programs (even on their day off). This is a great airport and I encourage pilots to utilize this airport and its staff.

The Animal Rescue Flights (ARF) organization occasionally uses Carlisle as a transfer point for dogs between legs. On Sat, 11/21/09, I landed just before dark expecting to pickup 3 dogs. The incoming flight was weather delayed and we had to hangout at the now-closed airport for about 2 1/2 hours. Wayne, the manager was TERRIFIC! He left the FBO office open so we could wait out of the cold. He made us a fresh pot of coffee. He came back to the airport when the incoming flight finally arrived and helped us transfer the dogs. Wayne and the crew at Carlisle embody what a country airport operation should be ... add the brandspanking new 60' x 4000' runway and you have a winner. Thanks to everyone who helped us last night.

Dropped off two passengers for a funeral (Aug), Jeff had called ahead for a cab for us and made arrangements for me to relax in his office for the few hours that I had to wait for my folks. He even came to check and make sure if I needed anything way after business hours. That's total and complete care way and above the call of duty. A superior operation. Thanks.

The newly refurbished runway at Carlisle is nice. The FBO is a pleasant general aviation facility with limited accommodations. Only self-service fuel and small ramp space but the attention by the staff is very efficient. No crew car but quick and reasonable taxi service is available. The trips to and from the auto events in Carlisle are easy by taxi. The airport needs a lower minimum approach. Perhaps a GPS approach would serve to provide greater access during low ceiling periods, since no localizer is available. The VOR & NDB approaches have high outdated minimums.

THE NEW RUNWAY IS OPEN! 1 Aug, and it is magnificent! Landing here now is totally different -- the runway is wider by 20 feet (to 60 feet wide now), is well marked, leveled, and free of any rocks, etc. The runway renovation was a complete success; come check it out. Airport managers Jeff and Wayne will make you feel right at home. Come see the NEW Carlisle Airport! Mike Marra, Keystone Flight.

I flew my Glastar to N94 over the Memorial Day weekend, and to put it simply; I received the best attention and service from Jeff Smith as I have anywhere in my 40 years of flying.

Flew into this airport in a Bonanza on 4/8/2009 as we have in the past. Due to a car parked on the ramp we managed to get our airplane stuck and had to shut down to push the airplane back. It just so happens when we shut down it was in front of the med Flight hangar and the pilots came out all upset saying we couldn't park here. With no intentions of parking there as we stated but this pilot would not stop bolding saying we couldn't be here, extremely rude. The captain for Medflight came out and made his co-pilot go back inside. After which we pushed the airplane back, started it up and parked in the GA parking. Due to this we didn't purchase any fuel here.
