This is a great place to fly in and out of. I keep my plane here and do some freelance Instruction I and all of my students are always pleased. Planes are always fueled on time. I live in Raleigh and even with the drive I can be off the ground in less time here then KRDU. That combined with the savings on fuel and hangers. This is a great alternative to Raleigh. Now if they can only get the GCO working.

Excellent service at this FBO! They treated us like gold when we stayed overnight to miss the weather. Great price on fuel and hangar, and they went above and beyond to help. Thanks again!

Nice airport with good approaches, reasonable fuel prices, and very nice management. They're a bit of a trek from Wake Forest or Raleigh, and be sure you listen to management's directions about how to get back to the airport (the GPS coordinates for the highway GPS are wrong). But once you've figured that out, it's definitely worth a trip.

Parking was a bit confusing...No spots marked in front of the FBO, and no one answered the radio. The line guy showed up after 10 minutes and said it was ok to park out front, but gave me a hard time for driving my car on the ramp through the "airport's" open gate. He cited security concerns? I flew the plane in - not sure what the problem was? Other than that, fine airport with a smooth runway, lots of ramp space, good approaches and decent price for fuel.

Great service and fuel prices, which are announced on the AWOS. I've stopped several times as I have relatives in Raleigh, it has always been good.

Don't pass this FBO. Stopped in for fuel on Easter Monday. They have their fuel prices on the AWOS. Parked in front of the FBO. Guys were very friendly and the facility is excellent. Could have used a sweatshirt, but, I'll get one next time.

Stopped in on 4/4 in our RV-7A to visit some friends that live in the area. Called on UNICOM to confirm transient parking area and taxied my plane to the tie-down. Was asked on the radio if we needed fuel. Driver came over and fueled us while I unloaded and tied down. The transient tie-downs are a bit of a walk to the FBO and the driver put our bags into the fuel truck to drive them over for us. Fantastic service and good fuel prices made for a very pleasant visit. We will definitely be back!

I spoke with the airport's manager Rob Southerland about fees charged. The "landing fee" issue was quickly resolved and does not apply to piston aircraft. I learned from Rob that LHZ has been one of the few airports in our area not to charge any landing fees for commercial turbine aircraft transiting our region. The airport is surely justified in their actions to add these "customary and usual" fees. I understand that they canvassed other airports first and chose the lowest landing fees in use. LHZ appears to have the interests of both sport aviation and commercial aviation in mind, and they get my compliments for this, as the head of one of central NC's largest sport aviation organizations.
