Flew in Feb. 12, 2008. Called on Unicom multiple times, no answer. After landing, pulled in front of FBO entrance. No lineman had parked us. No lineman in sight. Picked pax up. Taxied out. Someone calls on CTAF (I think it was a line tech) practically yelling about us blowing them away when we taxied out. I've been here multiple times and always had decent service. I hope that this does not become a common occurrence.

Response from DJ Hammac, Lineman, Teledyne-Continental Motors
Mr. Bledsoe needs to understand that we have two linemen here at 4R4 and we do not always get to answer the unicom. We also are responsible for much more than just line services. Mr. Bledsoe pulled his Citation up to the door and picked up his passengers, this I do not have a problem with. What I do have a problem with is how he decided that he needed full throttle to get his jet rolling, knowing that there was a Cessna 208 directly behind it less than 50 feet away. As a PIC he should be more cautious. So thank you Mr. Bledsoe for your concerns, but next time you come to Fairhope, pull your jet on to a yellow T. Signed: the lineman that yelled at you.

I fly for a charter Jet Company and we flew in here several times back in June. This is NOT an FBO; it is an maintenance hangar and nothing else. If you need ANY services, Lave dump, ice, papers, coffee, etc, etc. You are plain old SOL. If you have the option, go to Mobile downtown instead.

I have been to this airport quite a bit lately. The line guys at 4R4 are fantastic; the facilities however, could definitely use some updating. The biggest thing would be to put in some wifi for the pilots to be able to file flight plans and such.

Fairhope is a beautiful town...I just wish the FBO was in better shape. The have a HUGE TV in the pilot lounge...But you only get about 4 clear channels. Also, the DO NOT have wireless Internet. If you have to spend much time there you might want to bring a book.

We stopped at 4R4 on our way from Key West to St. Louis and found the airport to be a nice quite place to get fuel. We will definitely be going there again when visiting the Mobile, Alabama area.

Flew into Fairhope to look around & ended up staying the night. Line staff was exceptional & tied my airplane down for approaching wx. Courtesy car is available. Great place to visit.
