We stopped for fuel on August 1st. Helpful staff and good fuel prices make this a great stop in this part of the country. Watch the density altitude and allow some time to climb to clear the ridge to the south.

This airport is great. Good fuel prices and helpful staff. Land on 19 unless tail wind is greater than 10 knots.

Ditto to all the previous comments. Great folks here, Ray's great (I always heed the comments of locals...), good fuel price, FanTASTIC scenery. Crosswind landings can be tricky, especially when landing uphill, mountain-flying experience is helpful. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn here several times, never anyplace else, never will. Thermopolis is one of the neatest, coolest small towns I've ever come across. Period. You'll be glad you visited. And, I'm not w/ the CoC.

Ditto concerning all the comments about THP being a great place to stop. They should rename "self service fuel" to "full service fuel." The courtesy car is an older 4x4 Dodge pickup that is carefully maintained.

Our stop at Thermopolis was one of the best of our two-week trip. Ray was very helpful and informative with our transportation, (Courtesy Dodge Pick-up) and our lodging. His recommendation of Butch's in Kirby was perfect for dinning. His advice on a departure route through the Teton's SPECTACULAR to say the least. THANK YOU!

What a great airport. Fuel prices were good and the staff was very friendly. We stopped here for both directions of our trip because of the great service.

Great people, great little airport, probably the most beautiful scenery on final I have ever seen. Watch your speed going over the transition between runway and the ramp; it is a pretty good dip.

From Rob Kolter on 18-Apr-2008
Add my comments to the raves about THP. Friendliest folks and the lowest gas prices I've seen in a while.

Jocelyn and Ray are some of the greatest people I ever met. Vince is also quite helpful to everybody. Services here are top rate. We're fortunate to have them here in town. Sometimes when I'm able, I'll go up and help Ray move airplanes to designated parking spots or to the hangars. They also support RC Aviation, which he have at least 1 meet per year here. I'm not an actual pilot, but do fly flight sim and also own an RC aircraft. Any pilot here will help ya out if need be. Just ask if they are around. We have a great town, and lots to do. Our swimming pools with mineral water are the best. Water temps are about 95 degrees average. We got the best healing waters in the world. When we get our new airport in a few years, I hope our whole staff will come over. BTW this airport is kept clean and the snow plowed off in the winter. Any pilot can feel safe to fly in THP, guaranteed.

Stopped to rest on long cross country, fuel up, both me and the plane, and to take advantage of the public mineral hot springs in Downtown park. 104 degrees of relaxation. The courtesy truck was available for the above. Friendly greetings and sendoff. Care must be taken on northbound landing as there can be gusty winds and the runway has a significant downhill slope. Recommend this stop though. Remember to pack a swim suit for twenty minute soak.

Flew in to weekend in Thermopolis on 8/10 for anniversary. Vince was very friendly and helpful. Gave me the "courtesy truck" for the weekend. Hangered my new Mooney for $15/night. Gas was very reasonable. On premises golf course was in great shape and restaurant was first class (high end). My wife loved it. We'll be back. The uphill landing and downhill takeoff worked great too.
